If Gadgets Have Emotions

... then my camera would have said, "Whew!"

For the past few weeks, I have been contemplating into getting a new camera. There is nothing wrong about my current camera. In fact, I love it to bits! I have had it for almost eight months now and it never failed on me... ever! It has done its job really well. Actually, it really must because I think I read hundreds of reviews about this camera before I finally bought it. I was a well-thought-of purchase. It was not a very expensive camera but I just wanted to make sure that my money is well spent to the smallest peso.

Anyway, last night while tinkering on this little gadget, I stumbled upon a certain flash setting that I have never used before. (Yes, I don't read manuals that much.) Tried a few shots (of myself - LOL), and WHOA, I loved the effect. Take note that it was already late at night and my photo looked like it was taken at noontime - in a good way. The lighting was superb.

A realization came to me. I am already deciding on totally replacing THIS gadget when in fact, I have never really used it at its maximum capacity. I somehow felt sorry for it and I knew that if gadgets could speak, mine would probably thank me for still keeping it. I love my camera. And I will continue loving it as much as it loves me. I will still think about upgrading, but not very soon. Heeeheeee. I sound very shallow right now, I know. But seriously, how many times has this happened to us? With cellphones, laptops, or even clothes and shoes? Sometimes, our money's worth depends on how WE value the things we buy, not the value of the item itself.

I shall stop now. Emotional now.

Meanwhile, see my outfit (scroll up, scroll up!)? I'm loving my new navy blue cardigan which I recently bought in Baguio! :) It's sooo comfortable and loungy! And that UK flag shirt? I got it from a thrift store way back. I am very much in-love with it.

Happy humpday to all!♥♥♥

College Colors

This morning, I was reading some updates about my college through an online alumni newspaper. Gaaaaaaad, I miss my school. :( It's so ironic because it is now school vacation in the Philippines, yet I suddenly felt that itch to wear my school uniform (yes, I wore uniform in college), pack my pens and notebooks, see my classmates (the fun part!!!) and head to school.

Of course I can't do that. So as I dressed up this morning, I was sorta inspired to use my college colors in my outfit. The actual colors of my school are blue and gold. :) I don't have anything gold in my wardrobe so I opted for a yellow instead.

Oh and how convenient are cotton tshirts these days??????? I could wear them forever during summer! (Forever + during summer = ironic ~ LOL!) This blue cotton shirt is one of the most comfortable I own. I gotta get more in different colors. ^^

How's your summer? Hope everyone's doing alright. ♥♥♥

Oh Summer Time!

I used to hate this beautifully printed blouse that I got from a thrift store ages ago. It's too long. It's sorta see-through. The fabric makes my skin itchy at the end of the day. Aaaaaand, since it is a long button down, I only wore it with black tights.

This morning, while rummaging through my closet, I saw this again and wondered why it was still there. Hehehe I really thought I gave it away already. Then, I fell in love once again with its beautiful prints. It is perfect for summer!♥

I love summer. I know that summer here in the country can get waaaaaay too hot, but I still love it. As for dressing up, it gives you this license to be as colorful as you like (although I got a few lingering stares since I paired this outfit with bright pink shoes). Heehee!

Happy Friday, everyone!!! ♥♥♥

Blues :)

Our company celebrated its first anniversary the other day. We were asked to wear blue ♥ for it was the company's color. When I got home, I realized that I did not have a lot of blue shirts. :( I only had this checkered button down short from ages ago, so I just paired it with a nice denim jean shorts, then sported light blue nails that went along with my turquoise (almost blue ~ hehe!) earrings. Done!

So, is it just me or the weather is getting bipolar??? Noontimes are scorching hot and evenings are ridiculously chilly! I swear, dressing up for work can be a dilemma for me everyday.

Anyways, I hope that everyone is having a great week. :) ♥♥♥

Because I Can

Mom looked puzzled as she saw me today in this outfit. She went like, "Nung Monday ka pa naka-shorts ah!" (You've been wearing shorts since Monday!) Well, Ma, we don't have a dress code in the office - yay! (Only flip flops are not allowed) And also, It. Is. Super. Hot. These. Days. Even if the vehicle I took to work was air-conditioned, it was not enough. The temperature was just unbearable.

On the other news, I just got these flat shoes for 299 pesos! :)  It's from Penshoppe. It was originally 500+ pesos but it was marked down to the aforementioned price. I would not have the interest in buying it if it wasn't for the huge red 50% off tag. I love sales.

It's 2 days to go before the weekend! ♥♥♥

Something Borrowed and Something New

Newly found, that is! Last night, I was rummaging through some rarely used bags and saw these pretty earrings I have owned ages ago. I think I only used it twice or thrice since....2006??? So when my eyes laid on them again, it was like looking at a beautiful accessory for the first time! Then I told myself, "Imma wear this tomorrow!!!". And I did!

It's tribal-ish, no? :)

I love long earrings! ♥

And even if it's not that interesting, (LOL) I'd like to post my outfit for today.

Borrowed: Cardigan
New (found): Earrings

I could live in denim shorts forever! I just wish that bruise on my upper left thigh will disappear fast. :(

Happy Thursday!☺♥☺♥☺

Almost Ready for Summer!

Ironic title since it's pouring just a bit outside as I type. But I still know that summer is fast approaching and I'm getting giddy about it already. One reason is that I get to wear shorts more. I like wearing shorts... a lot! I'm quite lucky because I work in an office where it's allowed to wear shorts anytime of the week (in an appropriate way, of course). *^^* But really, I like the comfort it gives. :)

Last weekend, I had an "art attack" moment (LOL!) and decided to rip some old denim pants and convert them into shorts. :) Added a few little things, too, to make it look... ummm... unique. :)

When mom saw this, she was like, "Are those cat food pellets?" LOL!

Saw a piece of black lace laying around mom's sewing kit and made good use of it! ^^

And finally, a classic. :)

I'd probably abuse this little baby. The fit is just perfect. :D

I hate that it's still raining as I end this blog post. I hope it stops soon. ~~~ ORRR better yet, I'll just crawl back to bed and take advantage of the weather. Heeeeheeeee. *^^*

Happy weekend to all! <3

Nothing Special About This Friday

...but the idea of being hours away from weekend brings the biggest, most genuine smile on my face!☺ Happy Friday to everyone!

My partner in crime for this blog (a.k.a. my camera) was borrowed for a week so I wasn't able to post pictures of the nail art designs I came up with this week. I got my little gadget back today though, so I'll be shooting crazy some things I will blog about next week. *^^*

For now, I will be listing down the things I am currently obsessed with.♥♥♥

Denim shorts! I particularly love the distressed ones. They are my current fashion eye candies. A few months back, our family received a huge balikbayan box from a relative abroad that contained heaps of clothes. There were tons of jeans, too! But sadly, I wasn't interested with the styles it carried. So I watched countless video tutorials on how to cut denim pants into shorts and make them look stylish and updated. :D

Zebra prints! Last year, I was so engrossed with the idea of leopard prints and now I candidly moved on to a fellow animal print - this time, black and white. :D I have a VERY similar skirt like this but instead of black and white, it was black and gray.
(Photo from Google) Now if only I have that body to rock this kind of outfit!!!! So jealous!
Zebra print top from thrift shop. :D
Zebra print tank top from Robinsons' Department Store

Turquoise jewelry! I love purple. I also love turquoise. ♥♥♥ It all started when my sweet cousin gifted me a pair of turquoise earrings for Christmas (pictured below). After that, I began buying rings, necklaces, more earrings and even more rings with turquoise stones (not the real ones, though... I can only wish!).

Milk tea! Sad fact: I cannot drink coffee (unless it's decaffeinated). My heart just cannot handle caffeine well. :( But I worry not, because Lipton milk tea saves my day! :D I love having tea (the real ones that you steep) at home but when I'm at work, I settle for the ones from sachets. It tastes the same, minus the hassle of mixing tea, creamer and sugar. It's perfect for the really cold January breeze.♥

Lip balms! It's sooo cold these days! And I think it's even colder here where I live because we're almost on top of Manila. Unfortunately, the cold and dry weather has taken a toll on my lips. You see, I have thick lips, and when it becomes dry and flaky, it is just SO OBVIOUS. :( I have always carried lip balms with me since high school. My first one was Chapstick. After a while, I got tired with it's strong scent, so I moved on to Nivea. Now, I am absolutely in love with Carmex. At night though, before I go to dreamland, I only use petroleum jelly on my lips. I've been doing that for more than a decade now and have always loved the result.

This is the exact same brand I use. :D (Photo from Google)

There you go. My "obsessions" would probably change from time to time. Heehee! *^^*

I'm still grinning from ear to ear because it's Friday. I hope this weekend will be an awesome one for all of us.
